“You have oesophageal cancer”
February 7 @ 7:00 am - 8:30 am
Free – $49.00Oesophageal cancer has one of the lowest 5-year cancer survival rates of 23%.
Geoff Parnell was fit, healthy and enjoying life when in 2015 his lifestyle and business activities were abruptly interrupted when he was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer.
Fortunately, Geoff is one of the 23% of oesophageal cancer patients who survived.
He is now focussing his wealth of experience as a business executive and director on the Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG) – a multidisciplinary collaborative group of medical and research professionals working to improve the life expectancy, treatment and quality of life for patients with gastro-intestinal cancers of the oesophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, large and small bowel, rectum and anus.
Geoff will share with us the important work that AGITG is undertaking as well as his personal cancer journey. Importantly, we can learn the importance of self-awareness of key indicators of health issues that if recognised early can save lives.
